Arsenal Dealt Major Injury Blow As Key Man Ruled Out Of AC Milan Trip

Arsenal have been dealt a major blow with the news that Hector Bellerin has been ruled out of Thursday’s Europa League clash with AC Milan, according to the Mirror.
We travel to Italy this afternoon ahead of Thursday night’s last-16 first leg at the San Siro where Arsene Wenger will look to address a disastrous run that’s seen us lose our last four games in all competitions.
Bellerin was fully-expected to return to the starting eleven after being rested during our 2-1 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Wenger decided to leave Bellerin on the bench just hours before kick off at the weekend with Calum Chambers drafted in to deputise at right-back against the south coast club.
However, the Mirror claim that Bellerin has been ruled out of the trip to Milan because of a knee problem that’s expected to keep him on the sidelines for the next few games.
The 22-year-old has been carrying the injury for some time and has been playing through the pain in order to try and help the team get back to winning ways during what’s been a difficult period for the club.
Bellerin was able to train this morning but it seems the injury has worsened as the newspaper report says the Spaniard will now miss tomorrow’s clash with Milan.
The defender is also expected to sit out Sunday’s game with Watford at the Emirates while it remains to be seen if he’ll be fit for the return leg against Milan next week.
This news is a major blow as we have a lack of back-up for Bellerin in the right-back position so it will be interesting to see what Wenger decides to do tomorrow night.
Chambers is probably favourite to keep his place but he’s not a natural right-back so it’s a nightmare situation ahead of what has become the most important game of our season.
