Man Utd Legend Slams Alexis Sanchez For Poor Form Following Move From Arsenal

Rio Ferdinand has slammed Alexis Sanchez for his poor form since joining Manchester United from Arsenal in January.
Sanchez was considered as one of the best attackers in Europe during his time in north London as he provided 80 goals and 46 assists in 166 appearances for Arsenal.
However, the 29-year-old has struggled to replicate that kind of form since making the move to Old Trafford in January as part of a straight swap deal involving Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Sanchez has supplied just one goal and one assist in his 10 appearances so far for United and he was once again well below his best form during a shock 2-1 Champions League defeat to Sevilla last night.
The Chilean international struggled to have any positive influence on the game and has drawn heavy criticism for his performance as United crashed out of the Champions League at Old Trafford.
Former United defender Ferdinand is now working as a pundit for BT Sport and he didn’t hold back with his feelings on Sanchez as he says the attacker looks ‘a shadow of his former self’.
Ferdinand admits he feels sorry for the Chilean star as he believes he looks like a stranger in the United team having previously been a key figure during his time with Arsenal.
Ferdinand is quoted as saying by the Evening Standard:
“Sanchez looks like a shadow of his former self. When he was at Arsenal he was a player everyone looked to for inspiration.
“Here he just looks like a stranger in this team. When you go to a [new] team you don’t lose all of your talent, it’s still there.
“In some ways I feel sorry for him but it just isn’t going for him or other players as well. You could name the whole XI today, they were shocking.”
Jose Mourinho must try to figure out a way to get the best out of Sanchez as it’s just not working right now and he’s failed to develop any sort of understanding with the likes of Romelu Lukaku or Marcus Rashford.
