Arsenal Team News: Wenger Confirms Triple Injury Boost + Lacazette Update
Arsene Wenger has confirmed a triple injury boost ahead of Arsenal’s clash with AC Milan while he’s also given an update on Alexandre Lacazette.
Arsenal will be looking to finish the job and book their place in the quarter finals of the Europa League when we welcome AC Milan to the Emirates tomorrow night.
Arsene Wenger has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s provided a team news and injury update ahead of the game.
The boss was pleased to confirm that Hector Bellerin is set to return to the squad after taking part in full training today having recovered from a knee injury that’s kept him out of the last two games.
Nacho Monreal is also available for selection after passing a fitness test today having overcome a back injury that he sustained during the League Cup final defeat to Manchester City last month.
In a triple boost, Wenger also confirmed that Shkodran Mustafi has been given the all clear after being forced off during the win over Watford last weekend with a groin complaint.
It means Alexandre Lacazette is the only player currently on the sidelines through injury as the French international is still working his way back to fitness after undergoing knee surgery last month.
However, Wenger says Lacazette took part in a full session outside today at London Colney and will be available again after the upcoming international break.
The boss is quoted as saying by Football London:
Some players [Bellerin, Monreal and Mustafi] had a test this morning – Everyone is available apart from Lacazette.
He’s on track. He has a full session outside today. He should be available after the international break.
Bellerin is now expected to be recalled at right-back while Monreal should replace Sead Kolasinac on the left side of defence with Mustafi once again alongside Laurent Koscielny tomorrow night.
We head in to the game in control of the tie after securing a 2-0 first leg victory in Milan last week so we should be confident of finishing the job at home to book our place in the quarter finals.
