Man Utd Team News: Mourinho Confirms Double Injury Boost Ahead Of Arsenal Clash
Jose Mourinho has confirmed a double injury boost ahead of Manchester United’s clash with Arsenal but one player will miss the game.
Manchester United will be hoping to tighten their grip on second place with a win when Arsenal arrive at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
Jose Mourinho has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s offered the latest team news and injury updates ahead of the game.
The United boss was pleased to confirm he has virtually a fully-fit squad to choose from for the visit of Arsenal with back-up goalkeeper Sergio Romero the only significant absentee.
Romero is still working his way back to full fitness after damaging knee ligaments while away on international duty with Argentina last month so he’s set to miss his sixth consecutive game this weekend.
However, Mourinho’s update means Antonio Valencia has made a swift recovery from a calf injury that forced him off during the second half of United’s FA Cup semi-final victory over Tottenham last Saturday.
In a double boost, it appears Victor Lindelof has also recovered from a minor Achilles injury that had made him an early doubt for the clash with the Gunners this Sunday.
Mourinho reveals: "Everybody is fine [ahead of the Arsenal game]. I have 22 players and apart from Romero as a goalkeeper, everyone is fit to play.” #MUFC

United head in to the weekend action sitting second in the Premier League table and three points clear of Liverpool with a game in hand so Mourinho will be keen to beat Arsenal and tighten their grip on the runners-up position.
