Emery Offers Injury Update After Arsenal Star Limps Out Of Win At Newcastle

Unai Emery has offered an update on Aaron Ramsey after the midfielder limped out of Arsenal’s 2-1 victory over Newcastle United this afternoon.

Ramsey once again started in the No.10 position at St James’ Park and had a solid game as a stunning Granit Xhaka free-kick and a cool finish from Mesut Ozil helped Arsenal to an important 2-1 victory over the Magpies.

Ramsey failed to complete the full ninety minutes as he limped off to be replaced by Danny Welbeck in the 80th minute sparking concern the midfielder had picked up an untimely injury problem.

However, speaking after the win today, Emery eased those fears after telling reporters he doesn’t think Ramsey’s injury is anything serious as he feels the player is simply suffering from fatigue.

The 28-year-old played 180 minutes for Wales against the Republic of Ireland and Denmark during the recent international break and Emery thinks Ramsey is just feeling the effects of playing too much for his country.

The Arsenal boss told Football London:

“He played with the national team too much, today he played 80 minutes and he asked to change.

I don’t think it was not a big problem, but he was tired.”

Ramsey is almost certainly going to be among the players given a rest in midweek as Emery is expected to heavily rotate his starting eleven for our Europa League opener with Vorskla at the Emirates.

Hopefully the rest will do him good as we need Ramsey to be 100 percent fit for our Premier League clash with Everton next Sunday as we head in to a busy period that sees us competing in three different competitions over the coming weeks.
