Arsenal got back on track after their Anfield disappointment after beating Fulham 4-1 at the Emirates this afternoon to ring in the New Year with a win.
Fulham started well and should have taken the lead but Ryan Sessegnon wasted two great chances to open the scoring and Arsenal made them pay as Alex Iwobi found Granit Xhaka with a 25th minute cross and the Swiss midfielder did well to poke home for 1-0.
Arsenal took control of the game and doubled their lead early in the second half when Alexandre Lacazette slotted home following a lovely team move involving Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alex Iwobi and Sead Kolasinac.
Fulham pulled one back in the 69th minute when Lucas Torreira lost possession in the middle of the park and it led to Kamara tapping home at the far post from a Sessegnon cross.
However, Arsenal restored their two-goal lead in the 79th minute when Aaron Ramsey came off the bench to fire in to the top corner after Aubameyang had hit the post.
The Gabon international had gone close on several occasions but he eventually got his goal as Aubameyang found the back of the net via a deflection in the 83rd minute to seal a 4-1 victory for Arsenal that cuts the gap on Chelsea to two points.
