Transfer news: £35m star trying for force through late move to Arsenal
Ivan Perisic hasn’t given up hope of joining Arsenal and has asked Inter Milan to sanction a move to the Emirates Stadium on transfer deadline day
Transfer deadline day is here so managers are working hard to strengthen their squad with last minute deals and identifying targets for the summer so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest rumours. Today, Ivan Perisic wants to join Arsenal….
Ivan Perisic hasn’t given up hope of joining Arsenal and has asked Inter Milan to sanction a move to the Emirates Stadium on transfer deadline day, according to reports in Italy via the Express.
Unai Emery has admitted he’s keen to bring in a winger before the window closes at 11pm tonight and Perisic has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal this month.
The BBC reported last week that Arsenal had opened talks with Inter about signing the 29-year-old on an initial six-month loan with a view to making the transfer permanent for £35m in the summer.
Inter are reluctant to let the Croatian international leave on a short-term deal and Perisic was left on the bench for their recent defeat at Torino after handing in a transfer request to try and force through a move to the Emirates.
The Milan giants have stood firm and refused to do business unless it’s a permanent deal – something Arsenal can’t agree on this month – so it seemed the proposed move was off with Emery turning his attention to Yannick Carrasco.
However, with AC Milan reportedly threatening to derail out move for the Belgian international, a deal for Perisic could yet be resurrected as the Express are citing a report from Bolognanews that claims the winger has pleaded with Inter chiefs to sanction his loan to Arsenal today.
The Italian outlet says the decision now rests with boss Luciano Spalletti with the Express suggesting the Inter boss is keen to offload Perisic as long as a replacement can be found.
Sky Sports, via the Mirror, also claim that Perisic is desperate to join Arsenal today and the player has been forced to train on his own after making it clear he sees his future away from the San Siro.

We’ll have to wait and see how things progress over the coming hours but with Inter facing a huge game with Lazio at 8pm this evening, Arsenal will have to get a deal agreed soon if we want to land Perisic this month.
