Liverpool will be desperate to reclaim top spot with a win over Newcastle United at St James’ Park this evening.
Jurgen Klopp has made four changes to the side that lost 3-0 to Barcelona in the Champions League on Wednesday night. Dejan Lovren comes in to replace Joel Matip alongside Virgil van Dijk in the middle of defence while Trent Alexander-Arnold replaces Joe Gomez at right-back. Andrew Robertson retains his place on the left.
Jordan Henderson is given a recall in place of Naby Keita in midfield after the Guinean international was ruled out for two months with a groin injury that he picked up in midweek. Fabinho keeps his place while Georginio Wijnaldum drops back into a more familiar midfield role following his surprising spell up front against Barca.
Roberto Firmino isn’t named in the Liverpool squad due to his on-going groin problem so Daniel Sturridge starts up front with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane in support. Divock Origi, Xherdan Shaqiri and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are among the substitutes for the visitors.
As for Newcastle, Ayoze Perez is passed fit to start in attack while Jonjo Shelvey returns to the bench following injury.
