Liverpool vs Wolves preview | Triple boost for Reds | Expected XI’s | Prediction
This is a match preview ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League clash with Wolves including team news, line-ups and predicted score
Liverpool need to beat Wolves at Anfield on Sunday afternoon to stand any chance of pipping Manchester City to the Premier League title on the final day of the season.
The Reds head into the game on cloud nine after booking their place in the final of the Champions League with a sensational 4-0 second leg victory over Spanish giants Barcelona on Tuesday night.
However, there can be no time to celebrate just yet as Liverpool still have their eyes on the Premier League title with the Merseysiders sitting just one point behind leaders Manchester City heading into the final match of the season.
Jurgen Klopp’s side know all they can do is focus on beating Wolves at Anfield and hope that Man City slip up away to Brighton in order to win their first Premier League title and their first league title since 1990.
Team news
Liverpool have been handed a triple boost as Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson and Jordan Henderson are expected to be available to face Wolves on Sunday afternoon.
Salah missed the win over Barcelona due to concussion but he’s been given the all-clear to return. Robertson and Henderson both picked up knocks against Barca but Klopp says they will be fit this weekend.
However, the Reds will continue to be without the services of Roberto Firmino as the striker is still nursing a muscle strain so Divock Origi should keep his place up front after his heroics on Tuesday night.
As for Wolves, they have no injury concerns to worry about so they have a fully fit squad to choose from.
Expected line-ups
Predicted score
Liverpool 2-0 Wolves: Liverpool have won their last four league meetings with Wolves but they have lost two of their last three games against them at Anfield. Wolves also won the FA Cup meeting earlier in the season so Klopp won’t be taking anything for granted tomorrow. However, Liverpool simply have to win this game and I can’t see past anything other than a home win.
Liverpool are the heavy 1.29 favourites to win the game with Mustardbet and our prediction of 2-0 can be backed at odds of 6.73.
