Arsenal express interest but 26y/o ready to join Man Utd in potential £70m deal
Wilfried Zaha is willing to join Manchester United in a big-money deal this summer after Arsenal were priced out of a move for the Crystal Palace winger
Managers are making plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Wilfried Zaha is ready to snub Arsenal in favour of Man Utd….
Wilfried Zaha is willing to re-join Manchester United in a big-money deal this summer after Arsenal were priced out of a move for the Crystal Palace winger, according to the Telegraph.
Zaha endured a difficult two-year period at Old Trafford having joined the club in 2013 as he made just 2 first team appearances and was shipped out on loan several times before moving back to Palace in a cut-price deal in 2015.
The 26-year-old has developed into one of the most exciting attackers in the Premier League over the past few years and he provided 10 goals and 5 assists to help Palace secure their top flight status for another year with a 13th placed finish this season.
However, the Telegraph claim that Zaha has now informed Palace that he wants to leave Selhurst Park this summer and is determined to join a bigger club that is challenging for Champions League football.
The newspaper says Arsenal have expressed their interest in signing Zaha as Unai Emery looks to add some pace and width to his squad this summer while Borussia Dortmund have also reportedly made their interest known.
However, the Telegraph claims Arsenal have been priced out of a move for the Ivory Coast international after Palace slapped a £100m price-tag on his head. The paper says the Eagles may eventually accept around £70m but that kind of figure would still be too high for the Gunners so Emery is eyeing Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser as a cheaper alternative.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also believed to be in the market for attacking reinforcements with Alexis Sanchez and Anthony Martial being linked with moves away from the Red Devils following disappointing campaigns.
The Telegraph says Man Utd are also showing an interest in Zaha and the tricky winger is ready to re-join his former club if they can get a deal agreed as he believes he has unfinished business at Old Trafford.
United obviously have the money to meet Palace’s valuation but it remains to be seen whether they will be prepared to pay in excess of £70m for a player they sold for just £3m plus add-ons four years ago [source: Guardian].
Palace are under no pressure to sell on the cheap as Zaha is under contract until 2023 so the player in concerned he’ll be priced out of a move to a bigger club this summer unless the Eagles lower their expectations.

This is certainly a transfer we should be keeping a close eye on over the coming weeks as Zaha is going to be one of the most in-demand players of the summer and he’d be a great signing for United, or indeed Arsenal, if either club was able to get a deal agreed.
