International star speaks out amid reports of £30m Arsenal move
Ryan Fraser has suggested he will stay at Bournemouth for another year amid reports Arsenal are lining-up a £30m bid for his signature this summer
Managers are working hard trying to strengthen their squads during the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Ryan Fraser speaks out amid reports of possible Arsenal move…
Ryan Fraser has suggested he will stay at Bournemouth for another year amid reports Arsenal are lining-up a £30m bid for his signature this summer, according to the Mirror.
Fraser has just come off the back of an excellent campaign on the south coast that saw him contribute 15 assists and 8 goals in his 42 appearances to help Bournemouth secure a 13th-placed finish in the Premier League.
However, the 25-year-old’s future at the Vitality Stadium is in serious doubt as he’s about to enter the final year of his contract and he’s no closer to committing his future to the club despite the best efforts of Bournemouth to tie him down to a new deal.
The situation has alerted Arsenal as the Mirror claim the Gunners are hoping a £30m bid will be enough to persuade Bournemouth to cash-in on Fraser this summer rather than lose him for nothing in 12 months time.
However, Fraser has said he’s planning to remain at Bournemouth for another year as he’s not heard anything about a potential move to north London.
When quizzed about the speculation, Fraser is quoted as saying by the Mirror:
“The likelihood is I will be at Bournemouth for another year. And what will happen, will happen. That is all I can really say about it.
“No one has really spoken to me about it.”
Many media outlets have taken these comments to mean Fraser has ‘snubbed’ Arsenal but the way I see it, the winger is simply saying he has had no official contact so as it stands he’s expecting to remain at Bournemouth.
Obviously things can change quickly in football and no doubt Fraser would soon change his tune if Arsenal come calling with a formal offer – which is still a distinct possibility if reports are to be believed.
Football London reported earlier this month that Arsenal have made Fraser a priority signing but they expect any potential move to come later in the window as negotiations are likely to drag on for some time.

Unai Emery desperately needs to add some width to his squad and it seems Fraser is on his radar, so I wouldn’t look too much into the Scottish international’s comments as there is still a long way to go before the window shuts.
