Man Utd agree contract terms with Tottenham target after both clubs table £54m bids
Manchester United and Tottenham have both made £54m bid for Tanguy Ndombele but the Red Devils has now agreed contract terms with the Lyon midfielde
Managers are working hard trying to strengthen their squads during the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, an update on Tanguy Ndombele….
Manchester United and Tottenham have both made £54m bid for Tanguy Ndombele but the Red Devils have also agreed contract terms with the Lyon midfielder, according to a report in France via TeamTalk.
Ndombele has just come off the back of a superb debut campaign with Lyon after joining the club from Amiens last summer and his all-action performances in the middle of the park have led to him breaking into the French national team set-up.
The 22-year-old has also attracted interest from some of Europe’s top clubs, including those in the Premier League, and the Metro reported last week that Manchester United had joined Tottenham in the chase to sign Ndombele this summer.
Spurs were reportedly the early front runners after Mauricio Pochettino identified the Frenchman as a potential replacement for Mousa Dembele following his shock move to China back in February.
However, TeamTalk are citing a report from SoccerLink that suggests Manchester United are now in pole position after agreeing contract terms with Ndombele over a potential move to Old Trafford.
The French publication claims Juventus have also agreed terms with the midfielder while Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are also believed to be tracking him so there is plenty of competition for his signature.
SoccerLink, via TeamTalk, reports that Manchester United and Tottenham have both tabled offers worth around £54m [€60m] but Lyon are expected to hold out for a bid closer to £80m [€90m] given the interest in the player.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is in the market for a new midfielder as Ander Herrera is set to walk away on a free transfer after running down his contract while Paul Pogba’s future is in doubt after he went public with his desire to seek a new challenge.

It appears United have lined-up Ndombele as the man to strengthen their midfield options and they’re well placed to secure a deal but the midfielder isn’t expected to force a move so interested parties are going to have to pay close to Lyon’s asking price.
