Arsenal to submit fresh offer to sign 22-year-old star who wants Emirates move
Arsenal will table an improved £19m bid for key target Kieran Tierney and the Celtic full-back is keen on making a move to the Emirates Stadium
Managers are working hard trying to strengthen their squads during the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Arsenal will increase their offer for Kieran Tierney….
Arsenal will table an improved £19m bid for key target Kieran Tierney and the Celtic full-back is keen on making a move to the Emirates Stadium this summer, according to the Daily Mail.
Unai Emery is desperate to strengthen his defence this summer after Arsenal conceded 70 goals in all competitions last season on their way to finishing fifth in the Premier League and losing 4-1 to Chelsea in the Europa League final.
Left-back has been identified as an area needing improvement as 33-year-old Nacho Monreal is coming towards the end of his career and spent much of last season playing at centre-back while Sead Kolasinac was exposed defensively last term.
Emery needs a player who’s solid when playing left-back and is dangerous going forward when deployed as a wing-back and Tierney has been identified as the Arsenal bosses prime target, according to the Daily Mail.
We’ve already seen bids of £15m and £18m knocked back by Celtic but the newspaper says Arsenal will go back in to test their resolve with an improved £19m offer and are hopeful that will be enough to find an agreement.
Tierney is still under contract at Parkhead until 2023 so Celtic are under no pressure to cash-in but in a boost to Arsenal the Daily Mail says the full-back is keen on making the move to north London so that should help during negotiations.
The Scottish Sun reported earlier this week that Arsenal are ready to offer the Scottish international a bumper contract worth around £75,000-a-week so it seems that’s been enough to tempt Tierney away from his boyhood club.
The 22-year-old has been a key player since progressing through the youth ranks at Celtic to become a first team regular but it looks as though he could be on his way to Arsenal this summer if an agreement can be found between the two clubs.

Emery is working on a tight budget after missing out on Champions League football but Tierney would be an excellent addition to the squad so hopefully we can get this proposed deal over the line soon.
