Arsenal make £31m offer to sign La Liga attacker, deal could be wrapped-up on Monday
Arsenal have tabled an offer worth around £31m for Real Madrid winger Lucas Vazquez and the deal could be pushed through early next week
Managers are working hard trying to strengthen their squads during the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Here, Arsenal have made a bid to sign Lucas Vazquez…
Arsenal have tabled an offer worth around £31m for Real Madrid winger Lucas Vazquez and the deal could be pushed through early next week, according to Spanish outlet AS.
Vazquez came through the youth ranks at Madrid but he’s struggled to hold down a regular first team place since making his debut in 2015 and he’s set to fall further down the pecking order following the arrivals of Eden Hazard, Rodrygo and Luka Jovic this summer.
Madrid are now trying to offload some of their squad players to help balance the books and Vazquez looks set to be sacrificed as he’s reportedly been informed by boss Zinedine Zidane that he’s not part of his first team plans next season.
Arsenal have emerged as potential suitors and AS claim we’re now locked in negotiations with Madrid trying to thrash out a deal after tabling an opening offer worth £28.7m [€32m] up front plus £2.7m [3m] in add-ons.
The Spanish publication suggests that the offer could be acceptable to Madrid and a deal could be wrapped-up early next week if Arsenal can agree personal terms with Vazquez after he expressed an interest in moving to north London.
AS claim Arsenal will do all they can to lure Vazquez to the Emirates after Unai Emery made it clear he wants to sign the player as the boss desperately needs to add some width to our squad this summer.
Madrid head off to the United States for their pre-season tour on Tuesday 9th so the report suggests that the two clubs are hoping to get a deal completed by Monday so Vazquez can get his future resolved before the squad jets off.
The 28-year-old is predominantly a right winger but he can also play on the left so he’d give Emery a top class option on either wing if Vazquez ends up joining Arsenal this summer.

He’s desperate to make the Spanish squad for Euro 2020 so he wants to leave Madrid in search of regular first team football and I think he’d be a solid addition to the Arsenal team if we could get this proposed deal over the line.
