Arsenal have provided a full team news and injury update ahead of Saturday’s huge Premier League clash with Liverpool at Anfield including updates on a number of players.
Granit Xhaka missed Arsenal’s 2-1 victory over Burnley last weekend due to a minor lower back problem but the Swiss midfielder is now back in full training and will be available for selection against Liverpool.
Mesut Ozil is yet to feature for the Gunners this season after missing their opening two matches having missed training due to security incidents at his home in north London earlier this month.
However, the German international is also back in full training and has worked on his fitness over the past week so the playmaker could be recalled by Unai Emery for the trip to Anfield on Saturday evening.
Rob Holding is still working his way back to full fitness having recovered from a serious knee injury but the centre-back isn’t expected to be involved with the first team this weekend as he’s set to turn-out for the Arsenal U23s against Everton tomorrow night.
The Gunners will still be without the services of Hector Bellerin as the right-back isn’t expected to resume full training until October as he continues his rehabilitation from a serious knee ligament injury.
Kieran Tierney joined Arsenal from Celtic on deadline day but the Scottish full-back arrived with a groin injury that’s going to keep him on the sidelines until October so fans will have to wait a little while longer before seeing him in action for the first time.
Emile Smith Rowe is edging closer to making his return to full training as he bids to overcome a groin injury while fellow youngster Dinos Mavropanos is pencilled in to return at some point in October.
