Jose Mourinho will take charge of his first Champions League game as Tottenham manager when they take on Olympiacos in north London on Tuesday night.

Ahead of the game the club have issued a team news and injury update on TottenhamHotspur.com including the latest on the fitness of Ben Davies, Jan Vertonghem, Tanguy Ndombele, Erik Lamela, Hugo Lloris and Michel Vorm.

Let’s start with the bad news and Tottenham have confirmed a blow with the news that Ben Davies has been ruled out of the game tomorrow night with an ankle injury that he picked up at the weekend.

Davies was forced off during the 3-2 victory over West Ham on Saturday after suffering an ankle problem which will rule him out of the visit of Olympiacos and the left-back is now being assessed to see how long he’ll be on the sidelines for.

The Welshman joins Lamela on the treatment table as the attacker is still recovering from a hamstring injury while goalkeepers Lloris and Vorm are also still unavailable for selection due to elbow and calf injuries respectively.

However, there is some positive news as Tottenham have confirmed Vertonghen is back in full training as he looks to make his return having missed the last three matches with a hamstring injury.

In a double boost, Ndombele has also returned to full training and could be in contention to take on Olympiacos tomorrow night after recovering from a groin problem that kept him out of the West Ham game.

Tottenham head into tomorrow night’s game sitting second in Group B on seven points – four clear of third-placed Red Star with a far superior goal difference – so they can guarantee a place in the knockout stages with a win over Olympiacos.
