Liverpool will be looking to continue their superb run with another win when they take on Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Ahead of the game, boss Jurgen Klopp has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference today and he’s confirmed Liverpool suffered no fresh injury concerns following Wednesday night’s 5-2 win over Everton.
Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Jordan Henderson were all rested in the Merseyside derby so the trio are expected to return to the starting eleven this weekend while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita are also pushing for recalls.
However, Liverpool will continue to be without the services of Joel Matip for their trip to the south coast this weekend as the Cameroonian international is still recovering from a troublesome knee injury.
Matip has been on the sidelines since picking up the issue during Liverpool’s draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford on October 20 and the centre-back has taken longer than expected to recover.
The 28-year-old has already missed nine games in all competitions and won’t feature against Bournemouth tomorrow afternoon as Liverpool prepare to be without the defender for the foreseeable future.
Klopp will also continue to be without the services of Fabinho as the midfielder has been ruled out until 2020 after damaging ankle ligaments during Liverpool’s Champions League clash with Napoli late last month.
Fabinho is a big miss in the middle of the park as he’s been one of Klopp’s key men this season but the German coach has players who can fill-in with the likes of Henderson, James Milner, Adam Lallana and Gini Wijnaldum all capable of playing in the holding role.
Liverpool’s only other injury absentee is Nathaniel Clyne as the right-back is still recovering from a serious knee injury that will keep him out until 2020 so Klopp is without three players for the trip to Bournemouth tomorrow.
The Reds will be able to welcome Alisson Becker back into the side after he served a one-game suspension against Everton so the Liverpool squad is in good shape as they head to the Vitality Stadium looking to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table.
