Coronavirus Impact on Football

The coronavirus is having a serious impact on people’s lives. This includes sporting events and we have already seen many high profile competitions cancelled

The coronavirus is having a serious impact on people’s daily lives around the world. This includes sporting events and we have already witnessed the cancellation of many high profile competitions throughout the world due to the virus.

The Players Championship golf is one of the most recent high profile sporting events to be cancelled this week. The Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne has been cancelled in addition to the US NBA season which has been suspended “until further notice”. The ATP tennis tour has announced a six-week suspension of the men’s professional tennis tour due to “escalating health and safety issues”.

In terms of football, we already know that Spain’s La Liga, the Dutch Eredivisie, Portugal’s Primeira Liga and USA’s Major League Soccer have been suspended due to the coronavirus. In Italy, Serie A has been suspended until the 3rd of April and it only appears a matter of time until the English Premier League follows suit.

Not only does this mean football fans will be unable to attend any matches over the coming weeks there will also be no live games available on television to enjoy. For some, this means no opportunity to place bets on their favourite football team or their usual weekend accumulator. Many football fans not only enjoy supporting their team and watching the sport but also having a little flutter on the weekend or in mid-week during the Champions League and Europa League matches.

So, with no major football games available on which to bet in Europe and the United States, what are gamblers going to do? Well, there is one option and that’s online casinos.

One thing the coronavirus will not stop is online casinos and they will be remaining open for business 24 hours day. For those who will be missing betting on the Premier League, UK online casinos are a great choice. You have a wide range of online casinos to choose from including 888Casino, Mr Green Casino, Sloty Casino, Casino Gods, William Hill Casino, Leo Vegas Casino, Mansion Casino, NetBet and many more.

For those interested in football gambling, you may recognise a few of the websites above such as William Hill, NetBet and 888. These companies have casinos in addition to their sportsbooks. So, if you have placed a bet on the Premier League or any other football competition using one of these websites you will already have an account set-up.

Why not head to their casino and see what they have available to play? You will find a huge range of games including exciting video slots, table games such as roulette, baccarat, blackjack and poker plus a live casino with real dealers. They may even have football based games, so you can still enjoy betting with a football theme, which is great.

Who knows, you may even find a new passion for playing online casino games or that you have a talent for playing one of the table games?
