Arsenal will be looking to cement their place at the top of the table with a win over Wolves on Saturday night. Here is a preview ahead of the game
Arsenal will be looking to cement their place at the top of the table with a win over Wolves on Saturday night. The Gunners have enjoyed a sensational start to the season as they sit two points clear of Manchester City having taken 34 points from their opening 13 games. It’s their best start to a league campaign in over 100 years and it looks like Arsenal are mounting a serious title challenge.
Some fans are still urging caution as there is a long way to go but with the Gunners 11 points clear of fifth placed Manchester United and 13 ahead of Chelsea, it looks increasingly likely that they’ll finish in at least the top four and book their place in the Champions League next season.
Betting odds
There is likely to be a lot of interest in this game in the betting markets so bookmakers will be vying for your business. It’s worth looking for a promo code for Frapapa to use before placing any bets as you could secure a welcome bonus or odds boost.
Arsenal are currently the 4/7 favourites to win the game and most fans will be backing the Gunners to come away with all three points given their excellent form this season.
Wolves are sitting in the bottom three following a disappointing campaign so far, but if you fancy a shock at Molineux then you can get odds of 4/1 on the Midlands club. A draw is available at 16/5.
Arsenal to win 2-0 is priced at 7/1 while the Gunners to be winning at both half time and full time is 6/4.
Arsenal were boosted by the return of Oleksandr Zinchenko last weekend so he’s available for selection again. However, Takehiro Tomiyasu is expected to miss out due to a muscle injury that kept him out of the win over Chelsea.
Emile Smith Rowe is also still unavailable for the North Londoners as he’s still recovering from a groin injury.
Wolves have a mountain of injury issues to contend with as Francisco Tavares Oliviera is out following knee surgery; Matheus Nunes is a doubt with a shoulder problem while Tote Gomes is also likely to miss out.
Raul Jimenez, Sasa Kalajdzic and Pedro Neto are long-term absentees.
Prediction
Wolves have struggled all season and are currently joint bottom of the table with Nottingham Forest so they desperately need a positive result. New boss Julen Lopetegui hasn’t had much time to work with his new squad but this is an opportunity to get his tenure up and running.
However, Arsenal are flying and the 1-0 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last weekend reinforced their belief that they’re in the title race for the long-haul. Arteta won’t be getting carried away but he knows another win on Saturday will guarantee Arsenal head into the World Cup break sitting top of the table. We’re predicting the Gunners to ease to victory: Wolves 0-2 Arsenal
