Chelsea will step up their efforts to sign Ajax prospect Christian Eriksen. TalkSport reports that Chelsea will send scouts to watch the Danish international as he is tipped to star in the European Under-21 Championship.
Eriksen is one of the hottest properties in Eredivisie and was on Liverpool’s radar before an approach was turned down by Dutch club Ajax. The 19-year old ran riot when England played Denmark back in February and is set to do the same in the U21 tournament.
Chelsea have been linked with a string of talented youngsters as money appears to be no object for the shoe-in boss Guus Hiddink who is widely expected to take over the reins at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is set to sanction a £120 million spending spree this summer with the emphasis being on youth to help replenish an aging squad.
