Arsenal Hold Private Talks With Cahill Over £15m Move | Midfielder Also Linked
Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis has held private discussions with Bolton defender Gary Cahill over a potential £15million switch to North London, according to reports in the Metro.
The Gunners are set to secure the services of the English international over the next few days which will see the 25-year old line up at the Emirates next season.
The former Aston Villa man was liked with a move to Manchester City but is set on a move to North London. Cahill could be followed by old boy Sebastian Larsson who came through the youth system at Arsenal.
The Swede failed to make the grade at Arsenal and was shipped out on loan to Birmingham back in 2006 and made the deal permanent at the end of the season.
However, following the Blues relegation the former Gunners trainee was released by City and has suggested interest from Arsenal. He told Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet:
‘I know there is some kind of interest but I cannot currently say whether something can be done or not.’
‘At the moment I do not know how it is going. I know who said that they have shown an interest but the next few days will tell.’
