Manchester United is a club evolving with a new breed of talent – that’s the opinion of former England captain Rio Ferdinand.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson wasted no time this summer after snapping up Phil Jones, Ashley Young and David de Gea. The trio are expected to eject a boast of youth to a squad that already boasts an array of talented youngsters.
The Champions are still chasing a playermaker to join their revolution next term and have been linked with Samir Nasri, Luka Modric and Wesley Sneijder who have all been linked with a mega-money move to Old Trafford this summer to fill the vacant void left by the recently retired Paul Scholes.
However, Ferdinand believes Fergie has gone about his business in the right manner.
“It is just what the club needs.”
“Three of our most experienced players have retired, so the manager has reinforced certain positions on the field.
“This club is always evolving. That is what has happened since I have been here. I was part of it.
“That is what you aim to do. It is not about your personal feelings. It is about the club becoming better and more stable and continuing the success we have had over the years.”
