Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby is facing 10 weeks out after surgery to his ongoing ankle problems.
The 25-year old could miss up to 2 months of the opening season which will be a massive blow to Arsene Wenger who faces losing another midfielder, this time to injury.
“Abou had ankle surgery during the break,” Wenger told Arsenal.com.
“Normally he should be back eight to 10 weeks after his surgery, which means the end of August.”
Diaby’s ongoing injury kept the French international out for the majority of last season, with the midfielder only managing 16 appearances for the North London side.
