The 22-year old has endured a difficult time since his switch to Old Trafford in 2009 and only managed 28 appearances and one goal for the club. The former Bordeaux wide man is expected to sign for the Magpies on a permanent deal and Pardew said:
“(Obertan) is almost there. He has to come through a medical” Pardew said.
“I’m looking forward to him joining the club and hopefully it all goes smoothly. It’ll be a permanent deal.”
