INJURY SHOCKER: Arsenal Rocked As Jack Wilshere Ruled Out For “Months”
Arsenal’s injury woes have continued with the news that key midfielder Jack Wilshere requires surgery on his ankle and will be out for “a period of months”.
Wilshere has not featured this season due to a stress fracture of the right ankle and has been wearing a protective boot to allow the injury to heal. It was hoped he’d be available to return to first team action in 2-3 weeks, however the fracture has not healed sufficiently and scans revealed he will now require surgery.
A club statement on Arsenal.com read:
“We have given Jack time to heal naturally which is important wherever possible with a young player. The latest scans show surgery is needed. Everyone at the Club wishes Jack a speedy recovery.”
Wilshere himself has spoken of his disappointment and says he hoped to return to action around Christmas time.
