INJURY SHOCKER: Arsenal Star Jack Wilshere Ruled Out For 5 Months
Arsenal have been dealt a huge blow with the news that key midfielder Jack Wilshere has been ruled out for 5 months.
Wilshere has not played for the Gunners yet this season after a troublesome ankle problem and the club took the decision to send the midfielder to Switzerland to undergo surgery, which was initially expected to keep him out for a maximum of 3 months.
However, after Wilshere underwent surgery on his ankle injury this morning it is now estimated that he will be ruled out for 4-5 months meaning it will be at least February until Wilshere returns to action. A statement on Arsenal.com read:
“The initial indications are that the surgery has been successful and Jack will now undergo a prolonged period of rehabilitation. It is envisaged that Jack’s rehabilitation will take a period of four to five months.”
Wilshere said after his operation:
“I’ve had my operation this morning and all went well. My ankle is little bit sore, but I’m already looking forward to working hard to get fit and playing again.
“I would also just like to say thanks for the many messages of support I have received from you – the fantastic Arsenal supporters. See you all soon at the Emirates.”
