Capello Admits He’s Impressed With Chelsea Ace
England coach Fabio Capello admits he is happy to call on Chelsea striker Danny Sturridge for the first time as he prepares his England squad to face Spain.
Sturridge has scored five goals for Chelsea this term and started ahead of Didier Drogba in their 1-0 win at Blackburn over the weekend. Capello has included the forward in his squad to face World Champions Spain next Saturday and the Italian admits he has been impressed by the improvement shown by Sturridge:
“He’s an interesting player and a player who scores goal,” said Capello.
“I saw him play right wing, left wing and centre forward. He has improved a lot.”
The talented striker has started the campaign as he finished it, with the former Manchester City striker scoring 8 in 12 whilst on loan at Bolton last season.
