Swansea have started the season well under manager Brendan Rodgers and have an unbeaten home record to boast about so far this season. The Swans have come off the back of some impressive results including a 3-1 win against Bolton and more recently and impressively they claimed a point at Anfield.
They also haven’t conceded a goal from an opposing player so far at home, with the only they conceded coming from an own goal. Swansea have had many impressive performers in their team this season such as their summer signing goalkeeper Michel Vorm. The Dutch stopper has had a fantastic run of performances.
Scott Sinclair, Neil Taylor and Nathan Dyer are all important for Swansea but the main man for me is Danny Graham. The former Watford man became Swansea’s record signing at £3.5m and didn’t start as everyone would have liked. However, four goals in his last five appearances in the league has helped the striker pay back some of the outlay.
Man Utd are coming into the game with four straight wins following the shocking game with the local neighbours. All four games have come without conceding a goal.
United have injury problems, with the unlucky Tom Cleverley ruled out for even longer with an ankle ligament injury. The midfielder will be ruled out until Christmas. Danny Welbeck is out, Michael Owen is injured for another month at least and Chris Smalling is still out.
However, there is good news with Ashley Young returning from a toe injury and also Rafael and Darren Gibson both came through 90 minutes in midweek for the reserves. Both are unlikely to return today though.
This week saw Sir Alex Ferguson say that Dimitar Berbatov is likely to have his contract extended by a further season and the Scot also said that he sees Phil Jones as one of the midfielders he has to choose from for his starting line up.
My team prediction
De Gea
Jones Ferdinand Vidic Evra
Nani Fletcher Carrick Young
Hernandez Rooney
I predict Swansea to come out flying and determined but United will take control and claim a 2-0 win.
