Tottenham Transfer News: Redknapp Admits Target Is “Exciting Player”
Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has described Blackburns Junior Hoilett as “exciting”, but insists he is yet to make an approach for the player.
Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has described Blackburns Junior Hoilett as “exciting”, but insists he is yet to make an approach for the player.
Hoilett has been a stand out performer in a struggling Blackburn side this season, and recent reports had suggested his form had alerted high-flying Tottenham who are aware that his contract expires at the end of this season and Blackburn may be forced into selling now or risk losing him for nothing.
It was suggested Spurs were preparing to test Blackburns resolve with a £9m bid in January, but while Redknapp has admitted Hoilett is a player he likes, the Spurs boss insists he is yet to make a move. Speaking at his press conference ahead of this weekends game against WBA, Redknapp said:
“He (Hoilett) is a good player. We have never made any enquiries for him, but he has been an exciting little player this year.”
