Croatian Confirms Wish To Leave Tottenham

Tottenham defender Vedran Corluka has revealed he wants to leave the club and will meet with his representatives in the coming days to discuss a route out of White Hart Lane.
Corluka has been a regular for Spurs in previous seasons, mainly being used as a right back. However this season has seen the rise to prominence of young English full back Kyle Walker, who has burst on to the scene at both club and international level.
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp now sees Walker as his first choice right back, leaving Corluka out in the cold having made only 1 Premier League start this term, and the Croatian has admitted the situation will force him to leave Spurs. The 25-year-old understands Walker deserves his place in the team, but with the European Championships only seven months away, Corluka feels it’s time to leave:
“Walker got the nod and there’s no question he is a good player who justifies his place,” he said.
“Redknapp chose Walker and doesn’t see me in the defence, so it is logical to sit round the table and agree an amicable farewell. I will talk to people in the next few days.
“I don’t have the will again to wait months for a chance, to fight for a position when I see that the coach has other ideas.”
