Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed he would buy Chelsea target Neymar if money was no object.
The Brazilian sensation is the worlds most in-demand player with a host of top European clubs interested in signing him. Chelsea were thought to be close to a deal last summer but instead Neymar signed a new contract at Santos and vowed to remain in Brazil until after the 2014 World Cup.
When the £40m rated striker does eventually move on, it’s expected he will sign for either Real Madrid or Barcelona, although Chelsea and Manchester City will both be fighting hard for his signature.
However, Arsene Wenger would also be interested in the 19-year-old, if he had the funds available. Wenger said:
“If I had the money today, I’d put it on Neymar. You can’t say that Neymar is Pele as he had won the World Cup by the age of 17.
“He has the potential to be one of the future great strikers but at the moment there’s a big difference between the Brazilian league and a European league.”
