Spurs Trump Chelsea To Top Transfer Target?

Rumours are circulating today that Tottenham are attempting to hijack Chelsea’s bid to sign Bolton defender Gary Cahill, by offering a larger bid for the player

Rumours are circulating today that Tottenham are attempting to hijack Chelsea’s bid to sign Bolton defender Gary Cahill.

Recent reports suggested the defender was set for a move to Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea close to agreeing a £7m deal. However, several media outlets today are claiming that Harry Redknapp and Daniel Levy are set to make a late move to scupper the deal, and are willing to offer an improved bid of £8m in order to land the England stopper.

Cahill was subject to intense transfer speculation in the summer after refusing to sign a contract extension at the Reebok. Arsenal and Tottenham both submitted offers for the 25-year-old but they fell short of Bolton’s £15m asking price. With Cahill’s contract set to expire in the summer, the Wanderers have now been forced to drop their price to around £7-£8m or risk losing him for nothing in 6 months time.

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas has made a new centre back his priority this January and Cahill is thought to be his No.1 target. But now it seems Tottenham are also keen to renew their interest and won’t be sitting back and letting their London rivals sign the player without a fight.

EVERYONE knows that Spurs can’t compete with Chelsea either in the transfer market OR on players wages! ‘If’ Chelsea want to buy Cahill there is NOTHING Spurs can do about it….. fact!

Plus champion’s league this season already, u only qualify for champion’s league every other 100 years. So stop counting yo chicken befor thy hatch douche, u can only do that if u ‘re chelsea.

I would take the Cahill report with a pinch of salt because last week according to this and every other blogg, Spurs had virtually signed the current Ajax and Belgium centre half, apparently it was a done deal if you believe anything in the low class press. I will only believe it when the Cahill or whoever is at Spurs lodge holding up a Spurs shirt for the cameras. What makes me laugh though are plonkers like Alan giving it large about what chelscum can do when EVERYONE knows that prior to the russian literally saving their bacon from extinction, you barely ever heard a word from the chelscum mice except for their moaning and bitching. EVERYONE also knows that Citeh can out bid and pay much higher wages than chelscum any day of the week therefore able to get whom they want and there is nothing chelscum can do about that either. Does that make them a more desirable club? No but it means that they will probably buy the premiership title much the same as chelscum have done in the very recent past with the russians money. Perhaps they are getting very worried by the emergence of the sleeping giant Spurs who will eliminate them from Europe at the end of the season.

Eliminate them from europe like they did last season eh Ray? I don’t support Chelsea but maybe you’d be better having a pop at the end of the season. I seem to remember loads of Spurs fans doing the same at the start of the year before the “sleeping giants” went back to bed without any supper. If you think you’ve qualified for the champions league in December then you’re rather silly.

Well Harry its simple, if you dont support chelscum then shut you mouth because you have nothing of any interest to say.

And you do Ray? Seems like trying to be an internet hard man turns you on. All you’re doing is gobbing off in December, try it in May Ray, it’s simple, like you seem to be X

I think the chances of cahill joining chelsea is high.Considering the fact that Alex might be included on the deal. That deal is as good as done.
