Arsenal forward Andrey Arshavin has revealed that former team-mate Cesc Fabregas made a surprise visit to the Gunners training ground recently.
Fabregas made his long-awaited return to Barcelona in the summer for a fee in the region of £30m. The midfielder has settled well at the Nou Camp, scoring 8 goals in 12 appearances so far including a diving header during Barca’s 3-1 win over Real Madrid on Sunday.
The 24-year-old was at Arsenal for 8 years and went on to captain the Gunners during his time at the club, and according to Arshavin the Spaniard returned to London Coloney to see his former teammates during a recent visit to the UK. When asked on his personal website if he still kept in contact with Fabregas, Arshavin said:
A few days ago Cesc came to our training ground; we had an opportunity to communicate with each other.
