Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has revealed he will add to his squad this January, but only if a ‘special player’ becomes available.
Spurs have been linked with several players in recent months with a striker thought to be high on Redknapp’s wish-list. Carlos Tevez is one of the latest names to be linked with a move to White Hart Lane and while the Tottenham manager is a big fan of the Argentine’s, Redknapp feels a deal would be difficult.
However, the 64-year-old did indicate that if a player was available who could improve upon his already strong squad, he wouldn’t hesitate in making a move, but insists such players aren’t easy to find.
“If someone came along who we thought was special and could make a difference, we’d go for him,” said Redknapp.
“[Tevez] a special player who could make the difference but I wouldn’t think that’s a possibility.
“The chairman [Daniel Levy] would back me all the way if we felt it was someone who could take us that extra little bit forward. But finding them is very difficult, there aren’t many around like that.”
