Man Utd Transfer News: Fergie Confirms Ravel Bid Rejected
Man Utd manager Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed the club have rejected an offer from Newcastle for youngster Ravel Morrison, who is yet to agree a new contract.
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed the club have rejected an offer from Newcastle for youngster Ravel Morrison.
Speaking to Sky Sports News journalists at todays press conference ahead of this weekends game against Bolton, Fergie was quizzed on reports linking Morrison with a move away and the United boss confirmed they had rejected an approach from Newcastle.
“We have rejected an offer from Newcastle.” Said Ferguson
Morrison is one of United’s most highly-rated youth team prospects but has seen his chances of first team football at Old Trafford hampered by off-field problems and run-ins with the police.
The 18-year-old’s contract expires in the summer and so far United have failed to agree terms over an extension. Ferguson was open about their negotiations saying the player has so far asked for unrealistic terms and also pointed the finger at Morrisons agent for trying to engineer a move away from Old Trafford. Ferguson continued:
“His agent has been working hard to get him another club.
“We have offered him terms, which he has refused. His demands are unrealistic as far as we are concerned.”
