Chelsea To Seal £8m Midfielder This Week – Report
Chelsea are expected to wrap-up the signing of Kevin De Bruyne by the end of the week after Genk confirmed talks are underway, according to Sky Sports News.
Chelsea are expected to wrap-up the signing of Kevin De Bruyne by the end of the week after Genk confirmed talks are underway, according to Sky Sports News.
A Genk spokesman is quoted by Sky Sports as confirming that general manager Dirk Degraen is in London to finalise the transfer of De Bruyne to Chelsea for a fee of £8m, with the deal expected to be completed by the end of the week.
The spokesman also claims that the 20-year-old winger will be immediately loaned back to them to see out the remainder of the season in Belgium before joining up with his new club in the summer.
“Dirk Degraen is in London and the expectation is that it (the transfer of De Bruyne) will be finished this week,” a Genk spokesman said.
“The assumption is that Kevin de Bruyne will be transferred to Chelsea and then will finish the season (on loan) at Genk.”

The young midfielder was thought to be close to joining the Blues last summer but it now seems like the two clubs have agreed a deal that suites both parties.
De Bruyne is ineligible for the knock-out stages of the Champions League this season so can continue his development with Genk until the end of the season when it’s thought he will replace the departing Florent Malouda.
