Man Utd vs Liverpool: Team News, Likely Line-ups & Predicted Score
Manchester United host Liverpool at Old Trafford at 12.45pm on Saturday lunch time. Here is team news, likely line-ups and predicted score for the big game.
Manchester United managed to come from 3-0 down to claim an unlikely point away at Stamford Bridge last weekend. Back on home turf this week, United host top-four chasing Liverpool with Fergie’s men hoping to keep the pressure on league leaders Man City.
Much of the pre-match talk has centred around Patrice Evra and Luis Suarez and whether they will shake hands or not. Should the Uruguayan striker start the game I’m sure the home fans will welcome Mr.Suarez onto the field in a very gracious manner!
But it promises to be an entertaining game at Old Trafford between England’s two most successful teams, and we shouldn’t get sidetracked from what is really important here; the football game.
Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed in his press conference today that midfielder Tom Cleverley will play some part in the game, but he’ll most likely start on the bench.
Phil Jones remains out but should be back next week while Chris Smalling could return. All other injury concerns remain out so it’s much the same squad that played Chelsea.
Sir Alex stated after the game last weekend how much he wished he had started Hernandez up front and praised the young Mexican for his contributions, so i expect he’ll start tomorrow.
Liverpool should welcome back Jose Enrique meaning Martin Kelly should drop back to the bench. Luis Suarez should return to the starting line-up and may well play alongside Andy Carroll, who is returning back to form of late.
It promises to be an intriguing encounter but United will just have the edge given it’s at Old Trafford. The comeback against Chelsea will have been a huge boost to the United squad as well. 3-1 to United.
