Arsenal have received a massive injury boost with Arsene Wenger claiming key midfielder Jack Wilshere could be back playing with the first team within a month.
Arsenal have received a massive injury boost with Arsene Wenger claiming Jack Wilshere could be back within a month.
Wilshere hasn’t featured yet this season and has been a huge loss to the side after injuring his ankle way back in September. Typically for Arsenal, just as the 20-year-old looked to be closing in on a first team return he had a set back and it was feared he would miss the remainder of the season.
However, Wenger is quoted on Sky Sports News as saying the midfielder’s latest scan was very positive and if all goes to plan this time, he could be back playing within a month:
“Jack can be back within a month if all goes well,” said Wenger.
“The recovery of his latest problems looks very good. The latest scan was very positive.
“We go cautiously step-by-step because we tried to push him back quicker in the first instance and he had a setback. So this time we have to be cautious and not go too quick.
“He can be back before then end of the season, of course.”
This is excellent news and it would give us a boost going in to the final few weeks of the season if we could have Jack back playing, but i’m not getting too excited just yet. We’ve been here before, and with several players as well.
We all know how things seem to work at Arsenal, and our record at dealing with serious injuries is abysmal. Let hope we have more luck with Wilshere this time round.
