Manchester United progressed to the last 16 of the Europa League despite a 2-1 loss to Ajax at Old Trafford tonight, with the Reds winning 3-2 on aggregate.
Javier Hernandez put United ahead after six minutes but the visitors levelled just before half time through Ozbiliz. Ajax then made it a nervous last 5 minutes for the home side after Alderweireld headed the Dutch side ahead 2-1 but United held on for a 3-2 aggregate win. Fergie’s men will now meet Athletic Bilbao in the next round after they overcame Lokomotiv Moscow on away goals.
