Van Persie Wins PFA Player of the Year – Walker Takes Young Player Award
Arsenal striker Robin van Persie has won the PFA Player of the Year Award, while Tottenham youngster Kyle Walker won the PFA Young Player of the year Award.
Arsenal striker Robin van Persie has won the PFA Player of the Year Award, as confirmed by Goal.com. The Dutchman was nominated for the prestigious prize alongside Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney, Tottenham’s Scott Parker and Man City trio Joe Hart, Sergio Aguero and David Silva.
Van Persie has had a sensational year, scoring 27 goals in 34 league games so far this season. His goals have been a major factor in Arsenal’s recovery after their poor start, helping guide the Gunners into third position in the league and on course for automatic Champions League qualification.
Tottenham youngster Kyle Walker scooped the Young Player of the Year Award after his excellent season at right back for Spurs. His fine form has also seem him break in to the England set up and he will hope to be on the plane for this summers European Championships. Walker won the award ahead of Man City’s Sergio Aguero and Chelsea’s Daniel Sturridge.
