The France right back was forced off midway through the first half of Arsenal’s 3-3 draw with Norwich on Saturday afternoon after going down clutching his right leg.
Speaking after the game, manager Arsene Wenger is quoted by Sky Sports News as saying that the 29-year-old has broken his fibula and will now miss the Gunners final game of the season against West Brom next weekend as well as the entire European Championships.
It’s the second time Sagna has suffered this injury after breaking his leg against Tottenham back in October. Wenger said:
“It is broken fibula, the same leg.
“He was kicked on it, it has not happened alone.
“When he was kicked, he has broken the leg.
“The guy closed him down and walked on him. I don’t know if it was deliberate or not.”
