Manchester United are interested in signing Arsenal striker Robin van Persie, according to talkSPORT.
As all Arsenal fans will know by now, RVP has just one year left on his current deal and speculation over his future intensified after the 28-year-old decided to delay extension talks until the end of the season.
Talks with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger are planned for next week where the Frenchman will do his best to persuade the 35-goal striker that his future is in North London.
However, talkSPORT report today that Manchester United have now joined Man City, Real Madrid and Juventus in the race to try and sign the talented Dutchman this summer. Here is a quote from talkSPORT:
“talkSPORT understands United have already sounded out the possibility of van Persie making a switch to Old Trafford, and are prepared to splash out big on the former Feyenoord man.”
I was wondering when this rumour would surface. I had a feeling United would soon be linked with Van P. At this stage is has to be treated as nothing more than gossip but should the Dutchman move this summer, i would sooner see him join United than City.
I’m fed up with Arsenal being City’s ‘feeder club’, so if Van Persie leaves this summer and stays in England, then hopefully Sir Alex Ferguson can tempt him to Old Trafford.
Don’t get me wrong, i obviously don’t want RVP to leave (my writers name is RVP10 after all), and I in fact believe he will be with Arsenal for at least another season, i’m just saying if he does go, then i don’t want him to end up with Nasri et all at City.
