Italians To Offer Arsenal Young Playmaker In Exchange For Flop Chamakh
Fiorentina are interested in a straight swap deal involving young playmaker Adem Ljajic and out-of-favour Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh, according to reports
Fiorentina are interested in swapping young playmaker Adem Ljajic for Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh, according to talkSPORT.
The report claims that the Italian’s chief scout Eduardo Macia has identified Chamakh as a potential signing this summer, and is willing to offer 20-year-old schemer Ljajic in exchange. Both players are valued at £6m by their clubs so a straight swap deal could suit both parties.
Ljajic is a Serbian playmaker who came close to joining Manchester United in 2010 from Partizan, but ended up at Fiorentina after the move to Old Trafford fell through.
The youngster has struggled to make his mark in Serie A this season and recently hit the headlines when he was punched by then coach Delio Rossi, who was subsequently sacked for the incident, after reacting sarcastically to being substituted.
Chamakh has endured a torrid season at Arsenal and made only 11 Premier League appearances last term, scoring just one goal, and it’s widely expected that the 28-year-old will leave the Emirates this summer.
If Arsene Wenger has any sort of interest in Ljajic, then he should consider this swap deal carefully. We need to get Chamakh off the books and if we’re going to get a talented young playmaker in return, then even better.
