Lewandowski Is Joining Man Utd – Smuda
Arsenal, Chelsea, and Man City target Robert Lewandowski is set for a move to Manchester United this summer, according to Poland manager Franciszek Smuda.
Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski is set for a move to Manchester United this summer, according to Poland boss Franciszek Smuda.
Sir Alex Ferguson was in the stands to watch Dortmund’s 5-2 demolition of Bayern Munich in the German Cup final last month, and saw Lewandowski bag an impressive hat trick in that game.
Smuda has called up three Dortmund players for this summers Euro’s, namely Lewandowki, Lukasz Piszczek and Kuba Blaszczykowsk, and is quoted in the Daily Mail as saying all three will leave Germany this summer, with the Polish hitman seemingly bound for Old Trafford.
‘In my opinion, in a moment they will be gone from Borussia,’ Smuda said.
‘”Lewy” is going to Manchester United, Kuba also somewhere in England, Piszczek to Real (Madrid).’
‘They have a goal and they want to grow. I base the squad on them.’
Lewandowski is about to enter the final two years of his contract and talks over an extension with the Bundesliga champions have stalled. The players agent Maik Barthel is quoted in the Daily Mail as saying that the offer from Dortmund isn’t sufficient while also confirming interest from Man Utd in his client.
”The offer from Dortmund is not enough and I can confirm there is interest from Manchester United.’
Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City have all been credited with interest in Lewandowski, who scored 22 goals in 34 games to help Dortmund win the title, but if the Polish manager is to be believed, United have won the race to sign the impressive striker.
