Arsenal winger Theo Walcott was the inspiration behind a stunning England comeback, as the Three Lions moved within touching distance of the quarter finals with a 3-2 win over Sweden.
Liverpool pair Steven Gerrard and Andy Carroll combined to put England 1-0 up, before a double from former Aston Villa defender Olof Melberg made it 2-1 to Sweden.
But with little over 30 minutes remaining Hodgson sent on Walcott who made an instant impact, firing home from the edge of the area for 2-2 before the 22-year-old set up Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck for a cheeky back-heel winner.
The win means England only need a point against Ukraine to secure a place in the last eight, and Walcott has staked his claim to regain his place in the starting eleven. Watch all the goals here:
