Ribeiro: Moura Deal Has Collapsed
The agent of Lucas Moura has claimed the players proposed move to Manchester United is off after the Premier League giants refused to meet the clubs valuation
With the summer transfer window in full swing, Football Talk will be keeping you up-to-date with all the latest transfer news throughout the summer. Today, Lucas Moura’s move to Man Utd has collapsed.
The agent of Lucas Moura has claimed the players proposed move to Manchester United is off after the Premier League giants refused to up their bid, according to Sky Sports News.
United have been strongly linked with a move for the highly-rated Brazilian attacker in recent weeks, and are believed to have tabled several bids for the Sao Paulo ace.
Sky Sports News claim the Brazilian outfit are holding out for at least £30m for the 19-year-old, but it appears Man Utd are refusing to meet that valuation.
Moura’s agent, Wagner Ribeiro, has confirmed that United have failed to strike a deal and Moura will now be staying with Sao Paulo.
“They have reached their limit,”
“Lucas Moura won’t leave. He is happy at Sao Paulo. We have to forget this subject. There is no possibility he leaves now.
“Manchester United made an offer, which was rejected and they won’t make another one as they have reached their limit.”
Ribeiro is quoted as saying by Sky Sports
Moura, who is currently in London preparing with the Brazil squad for the forthcoming Olympic Games, is one of the most highly-rated prospects in South America and was understood to be Sir Alex Ferguson’s number one transfer target this summer.
But it appears that he has failed to land his man and will now be forced to either up his offer or move on to other targets.
