Manchester United ensured they remained top of the Premier League with a hard fought 1-0 win over West Ham at Old Trafford.
United got off to the perfect start when they took the lead inside a minute, van Persie’s deflected effort looped over Jaaskelainen for 1-0. United controlled the game and had chances to add to their lead but 1-0 was enough in the end and the win keeps the Red Devils one point ahead of rivals City – who beat Wigan 2-0 at the DW Stadium.
