M’Vila Reveals Offers As Rennes Confirm Midfielder Wants Move
Rennes have confirmed Arsenal and Tottenham target Yann M’Vila wants to leave the club and the player has revealed offers have already come in for his services
With the January transfer window now open for business we’ll be keeping you up-to-date with all the latest transfer gossip. Today, more on the future of M’Vila.
Rennes have confirmed that Arsenal and Tottenham target Yann M’Vila wants to leave the club while the player has revealed offers have already come in for his services, according to Sky Sports News.
The report claims the France international midfielder has been linked with a move to the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham over the past few transfer windows but a move has failed to materialise.
However, the 22-year-old could finally seal a move away from Ligue 1 this month after Rennes general manager Pierre Dreossi admitted the midfielder has expressed the desire to leave the club, and while the French outfit would prefer to keep hold of him, he conceded they may have to sell if the right offer comes in with a move to England or Russia most likely.
“Yes, he feels like leaving,”
“But it is not a priority for us to sell. If he has to leave, he will leave. But if it is not worth it for him or for us, he will stay until the end of the season.
“It is all moving towards England or Russia.”
Dreossi is quoted as saying by Sky Sports
Sky Sports suggest that as well as Arsenal and Tottenham, Queens Park Rangers and Russian giants Zenit St Petersburg are also interested in the powerful midfielder.
M’Vila has also had his say on his future and claims offers have already come in for his services and confirmed he’ll be on his way if the deal is right. He said:
“The club have received offers.
“I want to go but the deal has to be right for everyone. If it isn’t, I will stay until the end of the season.”

So it looks like the Frenchman could be set for a move this month if a club can strike a deal with Rennes and the Premier League is a strong possibility. But where will he end up? I’ve been calling for Arsene Wenger to sign a ball-winning midfielder for some time and I certainly think M’Vila could do a job at the Emirates.
Tottenham would be a strange move for me. They already have Sandro, Scott Parker, Tom Huddlestone and Jake Livermore, as well as Mousa Dembele who’s been deployed in central midfield, so I don’t really see where M’Vila would fit in at White Hart Lane.

I feel the player is too good to be involved in a relegation scrap with QPR, so unless there is interest from another club, I would see a move to Arsenal as his best option if he does come to England. But we’ll have to see if Arsene Wenger even makes a move before we talk about M’Vila wearing the famous Red & White any time soon.
