Manchester United welcome fierce rivals Liverpool to Old Trafford on Sunday looking to extend their lead at the top of the table.
United currently hold a seven-point advantage over Man City and would put the pressure firmly on the champions if they can collect all three points ahead of City’s trip to the Emirates later in the day.
The game this weekend pits the Premier League’s top two goalscorers against each other as Robin Van Persie and Luis Suarez face-off at Old Trafford and either striker could be the key to winning the game.
Liverpool head into the game off the back of two successive victories but they are yet to beat anybody above them in the table so far this season and will have their work cut out to beat United at home this weekend.
Team News
Sir Alex Ferguson continues to be without Wayne Rooney with the striker ruled out with a knee injury, so Javier Hernandez is expected to continue alongside van Persie up front.
Midfielders Nani and Anderson are back in contention after recovering from injury but the duo are likely to have to make-do with a place on the bench.
Jonny Evans is favourite to partner Nemanja Vidic in defence with Rafael expected to start at right back ahead of Chris Smalling.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has no fresh injury worries but will have to decide how best to utilise new signing Daniel Sturridge. It’s likely he’ll be deployed on the right side with Luis Suarez continuing through the middle.
Jose Enrique is still out for the Reds so Glen Johnson should continue at left back with Andre Wisdom on the right.

Predicted Score
League leaders United have won five of their last six games and are imperious at home having taken 27 points from a possible 30, whereas eight-placed Liverpool have only won three of their 10 away games so far this season. The stats suggest a home win and we think United will have too much for the Merseysiders. Man Utd 2-1 Liverpool
