Chelsea Hit By Fresh Injury Blow

Chelsea have been hit by a fresh injury blow to goalkeeper Petr Cech who is facing a further spell on the sidelines after breaking his finger against Newcastle on Saturday, according to Sky Sports News.
The Czech international has only just returned from a groin injury that kept him out for three games but it’s been revealed that he broke his little finger during a 3-2 defeat at St James’ Park at the weekend and is now facing a further spell out.
It’s not yet known how long Cech will be sidelined for this time but Sky Sports claim his international manager Michal Bilek confirmed he will miss the trip to Manisa for Wednesday’s friendly with Turkey after scan’s revealed a fracture to his finger.
Chelsea No.2 Ross Turnbull stepped in while the 31-year-old was out in January and is expected to deputise once again while Cech is on the treatment table with his latest set-back.
The news will come as a blow to interim boss Rafa Benitez who has come under increasing pressure after letting another lead go during Saturday’s defeat to the Geordies, a game that also saw striker Demba Ba forced off with a broken nose.
The loss means the Blues are without a win in their last four games, a run which includes being held by League One Brentford as well as crashing out of the Capital One Cup to Swansea, so the last thing Benitez needed was another injury to an important first team player.
